Terms of use
Effective October 2, 2026
These terms are between you and Jack Wen, who runs FareTable ("we", "us"). By using the app you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use FareTable.
Check before you rely on it
Menu tags, including diet tags like vegan or gluten-free, and prices are read from photos by AI and can be wrong or out of date. They are not allergy or dietary advice: always check with the restaurant. Travel times and routes are estimates, and may be rough when our routing service is down.
Your account
You need to be at least 13 to use FareTable. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you're responsible for what happens on your account. You can delete it any time (see the privacy policy).
What you contribute
When you add a place or send menu photos, you confirm you're allowed to share them, and you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process and use them, and to show what we read from them (names, dishes, tags and prices) to everyone in FareTable. This license continues after you delete your account, for what's already in the catalog. Your notes, lists and visits stay yours and private.
Play fair
Don't use FareTable to:
- add places that aren't real or send photos that aren't menus;
- send anything illegal, harmful, or that you don't have rights to;
- game experience points, scrape the catalog, overload the service, or get around its limits or security;
- break the law or anyone else's rights.
We may remove contributions or suspend accounts that break these terms.
The service
FareTable is a small, early service. We may change it, add or remove features, or stop it, and we'll try to give notice of big changes. Restaurant information comes partly from Google Maps and from what people contribute; we don't control restaurants and aren't responsible for them.
No warranty, limited liability
FareTable is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for anything arising from relying on menu tags, prices, travel times or routes, and our total liability is limited to $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
Changes and law
We may update these terms; we'll post the new version here with a new date and tell you in the app about significant changes. Continuing to use FareTable after that means you accept them. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA.
